Website advice

(Posted by: Neil Cocker)

Hi folks,

Would love your feedback on a new website we’ve just launched. http://www.pollenhq.com. It’s a network for people in the creative industries. I’m particularly interested in hearing if you think i should add a members page, for people to display their profiles and details about themselves and their business.

I’d particularly like to hear from any of you great connectors who’d be interested in running a Pollen in their neck of the woods.

Cheers,

Neil

    Hi Neil

I thought your website looks modern and should be appreciated by your audience. As for a members page I think you should consider what you want from your site, it allows you to do things like a marketplace, possible an area for establishing collaborations etc. my site is www.mybusinessadvice.co.uk is you want an example.

However if you want your site to be a purely social networking site then maybe you should be doing something closer to facebook.

The real question is what do YOU want your site to look like, what do you want your members to achieve from your site, and step by step take it in that direction.

    The Food Network

Neil i think it seems great… a lot of businesses I work with are from this sector and would certainly welcome this sort of network though there are already quite a few in london who are targeting creative sector businesses… a members page is good we have one for each member on our www.thefoodnetwork.co.uk ….not everyone uses it by any menas but it does mean there are always new things going up on the site and things changing and people do certainly tell me they benefit from it ….

    Hi Neil

Great website. One additional idea could be to have a ‘market place’ where users can post ‘offers’ of their time/skills to help start up entrepreneurs (on an informal basis.)

good luck and hope events spread around rest of UK too.

    best,
