Sporting Contacts

(Posted by: Graeme Brittles)

I have an enterprise idea which consists of introducing team sports to children and young adults who are victims of bullying or percercution in their local area’s and children who are driven to the streets due to lack of activities in their local area and was wondering what resources i would need e.g. funding, contact with local F.A. etc.

I salute your initiative. I have contacts in the Junior Football League for Wirral and the British National Taekwondo Squad (based out of Sport City Manchester.) I’ll happily put you in touch (although the Taekwondo team are currently in training for the Beijing Olympics later in the year).

Try some / all of the following:

Check out makeyourmark.org.uk/inspiringstories for some examples of others running sports companies / social ventures.

Also try organisations like Street League, Women’s Sport and Fitness Foundation, BBC Your Game. If its run as a social venture UnLtd is a good place to start as they fund sports initiatives with a social bias.
