This one day course is a practical exploration of the role and use of arts with young refugees and asylum seekers. The course begins with an exploration of the barriers to social and educational inclusion experienced by young people when they begin a new life in Britain and explores the role of the arts in contributing to inclusion. During the training day participants will sample a number of practical approaches, which are accessible to young people who are not fluent in spoken English. They will also explore different ways of developing and adapting these approaches to youth arts work with young refugees and asylum seekers.
