JCI London is invited to the Bank of England - a classic event! Do not miss this unique opportunity to see the inside of one of England’s most famous financial institutions; the Bank of England also known as the ‘Old Lady of Threadneedle Street.’ The tour will take you through the main rooms of the Bank including where the Monetary Policy Committee make their monthly interest rate decisions and the Governor’s offices. You will be given an insight into the fascinating history of this central bank. Our guide will be the Bank curator - John Keyworth. We will then retire to a local hostelry for a drink afterwards. The Bank’s roles and functions have evolved and changed over its three-hundred year history. Since its foundation, it has been the Government’s banker and, since the late 18th century, it has been banker to the banking system more generally - the bankers’ bank.
