This one day course explores cultural diversity within Britain and suggests ways in which the arts can be used to help young people understand, value and respect diversity within their own communities. Starting with an exploration of the term Cultural Diversity the course will progress to identify the nature of prejudice and the factors influencing young people’s perceptions in today’s society. Identifying and exploring the main cultural groups living within the UK the course will suggest ways to research and identify diverse cultures within your own community, closing with an exploration of how youth arts projects can help build bridges of understanding.
All participants will receive a certificate of attendance upon successful completion of the course and a wealth of practical resources. Prices which include lunch and refreshments, range from £150 to £110, with bursaries available.
