ARC Retail Best Practice Forums

The ARC Retail Best Practice Forums are a series of quarterly, half-day thought leadership and networking events that include four specific topics across a given theme that will take place in the boardroom at The City Arc (www.thecityarc.co.uk), just a moments walk from Liverpool Street station. Attendees will be provided with refreshments, and for any of those staying for two consecutive forums on the same day a sandwich lunch will also be provided. Every session will have a facilitator and a note-taker. They will run under Chatham house rule, however, general notes covering key discussion matter will be circulated to all attendees within one week of every session that takes place.

Forums will be charged at only £149+VAT with discounts available for bookings of 4, 8, 12 or 16 forums equating to 10%, 12.5%, 15% and 17.5% respecively be that for a single delegate registering for multiple sessions or multiple delegates booking for one or more sessions.

There will be a maximum of 20 attendees per forum to enable a good degree of involvement and interaction by all parties. Attendees will have the ability to contribute to and shape the content for the topics within the theme. They will also have the opportunity to put themselves forward as speakers to lead part of the discussion around a particular case study or issue about which they have expertise. In addition to attendee contributions ARC Retail will bring in guest speakers / subject matter experts to cover specific areas of interest and open up the debate.

Themes and Topics will include, and are listed on order of occurrence: Theme 1 - Global Trade Management: - Topic 1 - Global Sourcing - Topic 2 - Global Logistics - Topic 3 - Global Law and Finance - Topic 4 - Global Retailing Theme 2 - Range and Space Management: - Topic 1 - Defining the Range and Space - Topic 2 - Collaborative Product Development - Topic 3 - Merchandise Planning - Topic 4 - Assortment and Layout Planning Theme 3 - Supply Chain Management: - Topic 1 - Understanding the Demand - Topic 2 - Planning the Supply Chain - Topic 3 - Tracking the Supply Chain - Topic 4 - Supplier Management Theme 4 - Retailing on Information: - Topic 1 - The Value of Data - Topic 2 - Defining and Measuring KPIs - Topic 3 - Business Reporting and Analytics - Topic 4 - Presentation of Information

The forums will run across 2 consecutive days in order to allow attendees the opportunity to come to more than one session, should they wish. The dates for these are as follows: - 23rd & 24th April 2008 (all topic 1) - 23rd & 24th July 2008 (all topic 2) - 22nd & 23rd October 2008 (all topic 3) - 21st & 22nd January 2009 (all topic 4)

Topics from Theme 1 will always run from 9am - 12:30pm on the first day of each block. Those from Theme 2 will be 1:30pm - 5pm. Theme 3 will be 9am - 12:30pm on day 2 and theme 4 will be 1:30pm - 5pm on day 2.

The forums offer the opportunity to share best practice and discuss what works, and what doesn’t, with like-minded retail peers and also provide exposure to fresh ideas and enhance learning & development across all levels. Due to the nature of the forums all those with an interest in a topic are welcome, regardless of level within an organisation, as a mixture of views and experiences will enable the discussion to be balanced and relevant from both the strategic and operational perspectives.
