10.10am The Role of the Private Sector & Promoting Economic Development
David Frost, Director General of the British Chambers of Commerce
David will provide a private sector viewpoint around economic development activity and inward investment, which is predominately led by the public sector. He will also provide an overview of the role of the BCC not only nationally, in terms of how it represents business at Westminster, but also locally through its network of Chambers.

Deborah Cadman OBE, Chief Executive of St Edmundsbury Borough Council
Deborah will speak from a public sector perspective about local authorities engaging with the business sector around economic development and inward investment. Deborah will speak about local authorities recognising and responding to the needs of the business sector.

11.40am Winning Inward Investment through Effective Partnership Working
Julian Munson, Acting Chief Executive of Suffolk Development Agency
Julian will focus on winning new investment for Suffolk and the region through effective partnership working. Examining lessons learnt from the Suffolk experience and focusing on best practice of how Local Authority Economic Development teams can better engage effectively with organisations such as SDA, Chamber etc and to act as a bridge to the private sector in presenting a more joined up approach to attracting new business investment.
