21 year old Demetri Koursaris is currently a Student at Warwick University reading Mathematics and Business. He has set up and is president of The Warwick Entrepreneurs Society, creating a platform for Enterprising students to meet and discuss their ideas. While at University he has also set up www.TheUniExpress.co.uk providing students a cheap and safe alternative to club travel. He is also the Co-Founder of Caffe Yum ( www.CaffeYum.com ), a mobile cafe company currently being franchised nationally, and is currently on the team of www.LiveOut.co.uk an innovative student lettings company based at Oxford, Warwick and Coventry Universities.

  • Why do you think networking is important?

    Networking is the easiest way to get connected. You may mention an idea to someone, and they will be interested in helping you make it happen, give you advice, or even give you the details of someone who can help. [HTML_REMOVED]

    It provides a way to meet new business partners, and get investment. A lot of business isn’t about what you know, but who you know!

  • What are you networking top tips?

    Always go prepared, with professional looking business cards, and try to speak to as many people as possible. Make sure you have something interesting to say, and listen to what they have to say as well. [HTML_REMOVED]

    Treat everyone the same, and don’t be worried about talking to certain people, they’re all human at the end of the day.

  • What advice would you give to a young entrepreneur?

    Believe in your idea, and start telling people it… It will scare them from copying it, if they can see you believe in it, and have the passion to make it work, and it will give you the confidence to make it happen. Don’t just dream an idea, it’s the implementation that makes you an entrepreneur, even if the idea isn’t that good.
