Gaby is the Business Engagement Manager for the British Library Business & IP Centre. She joined the Library in July 2006 to build a robust Partner Programme and to engage with businesses to increase awareness of the Centre and help provide a comprehensive programme of support to Small & Medium sized Enterprises, entrepreneurs & the inventor community.

Before this, she worked both within the private and public sectors, by rolling out corporate social responsibility programmes within the hotel sector and focusing on sustainable development at Forum for the Future.

She also worked at the Carbon Trust specialising in Energy Efficiency and Investment & Innovation.

Gaby most recently became a judge for the British Chamber of Commerce National Awards.

What makes your events different or special?

We enagage with Inspiring high profile Entrepreneurs, who help to inspire and motivate. We have a fantastic Business & IP Centre witha range of workshops on offer which are either free or heavily subsidised.
Why is getting connected important to make things happen?

Building Partnerships and maintaining relationships is critical to the work we do. We need to help connect and direct people to one another to help share knowledge and information.
What are your top tips for networking?

Be open, honest and yourself. Be who you are, don’t be afraid to talk to someone who you have never met before. Always give your business card, help to introduce others to one another….You never know who you might meet!
What are your best networking links / resources?

Our Inspiring Entrepreneur events are fantastic for networking. Our partner programme is also ideal for sharing knowledge and information, as well as our Marketing Associates. Striding Out are a fantastic organisation to work with too!
What is the best connection you have made or received?

Anita Roddick - working with her has helped to inspire so many people, and the energy she radiated rubs off on anyone she ever came into contact with….
