Karim is a member of the organising committee of Wales in London.

Karim Pabani was appointed as Chief Financial Officer and Partner of EC Harris in May 2004. Karim started his career at BT’s headquarters in the City of London, where he worked with many of their divisions across the globe. He has extensive experience in the technology and outsourcing industries, having worked with EDS and Siemens Business Services, helping to grow and turnaround businesses internationally.

Karim began his career at EC Harris within Group Services, initially developing the Finance function and building the Procurement arm of our business. Karim’s career can be characterised by leadership in Change Management, Technology Outsourcing and Strategic Financial Management. Karim is currently responsible for Finance, HR, IT, Corporate Real Estate, Group Legal Services, Procurement and Group Administration. Karim has also worked extensively with US quoted firms where he was international CFO for Chordiant Inc., a NASDAQ company and Convergys Inc., an S&P 500 company.

Karim was born in 1966 and grew up in South Wales. Educated at Glamorgan University, where read his degree in Finance & Accounting, he obtained Bsc (Hons) in 1989. A Fellow of the Institute of Management Accountants and Master Practitioner in NLP and he has been educated at Henley, Harvard and Stanford Business Schools.

  • What makes Wales in London different or special?

    Its a place where people from all walks of life can come together to celebrate all things Welsh, enjoy good food and company. There are many successful people and companies represented, who may be able to help.

  • Why is getting connected important to make things happen?

    Your network should be seen as your team. Your team needs the skills to create and execute ideas. The wider and deeper the connections, the stronger the team. The stronger the team the higher the probability of success. Besides its nice to have lots of friends.

  • What are your top tips for networking?

    Never place a value on the connection or person when you meet them, now or in the future. All people and connections are equally valuable, but may not all be equally useful. It depends on what you are trying to achieve.

  • What are your best networking links / resources?

    There is an excellent article in the Harvard Business Review on networking and its importance. Networking enables success within corporations and communities, its a key skill that needs to be developed. New York Bestsellers by Ivan Misner are also a useful resource.

  • What is the best connection you have made or received?

    Mark Charmer is essentially a futuroligist, who thinks about how the world will be in 20 and 40 years time. He is digitally connected to some of the foremost thinkers in the world
