Q&A
  • What makes your network different or special?

I have purposefully sought out a network of highly diverse talented individuals that can fill in for my weaker points. No business can provide a service to everyone, however, by expanding ones professional network you can really begin to Make Your Mark.

  • Why is getting connected important to make things happen?

John Donne famously wrote ‘No man is an island’ - I would add - no business can function as an island. It is only through our social interactions that we can get our ideas off the ground and spoken about.

We all need to connect with more people to make our ideas happen or to build our businesses further. Getting connected early on is the best way to ensure you get your idea started early on.

  • What are your top tips for hosting a great networking event?

Invite a good mix of people and make sure they have fun. Try to make the atmosphere buzz with excitement. Enjoy it!

  • What are your best networking links / resources?

    1. Try to make every one you need in order to succeed just one phone call away.
    2. Always carry your business cards or contact details.
    3. Have a pen and paper handy.
    4. Smile and keep the conversation interesting!
    5. Do not just talk about yourself - connections should be a two way thing. Always be prepared to do favors for your network - what comes around goes around.
    6. Note down everything you remember about the person you met on their card.
  • What is the best connection you have made or received?

The next one! You never know who the next person you meet will be. Whether its on the train, in the gym or at your next business meeting.

I find speaking about my business at events to be the best way to make interesting and useful connections. However, connections are useless unless you follow them up. As they say: it is about quality, not quantity.
