Q&A
  • What are your tips for being an effective networker?

Get out there and turn up! “80% of success is showing up” is a highly appropriate quote. There are plenty of networking opportunities around us; not just the formally organised events, but also informal clubs and societies. [HTML_REMOVED]

    • Ask questions and listen! Firstly you may be able to identify opportunities that may not be immediately obvious. Additionally effective networking is about building relationships and listening is a great way to achieve this.

    • Get involved and contribute! Being an active participant in a network is crucial. Sharing ideas, connecting people and assisting with the organisation of a network are all ways to build your presence.

  • What is your best advice to a young entrepreneur?

Build your support network. Mentors, coaches and fellow young entrepreneurs can be extremely useful. There are so many people and organisations out there to help you if you look. Additionally your personal support network of friends and family should never be underestimated.

  • What is the best connection you have made or received?

Probably the one I made to get me my present job! I was looking for work when I met someone from Young Enterprise London and wanted to get involved as a volunteer because I liked the idea so much. Before I knew it I was put forward for interview and offered a job.
