Q&A
  • Why is getting connected important to make things happen?

Due to the nature of our work, our network includes people from all areas of interest and expertise, all around the theme of education and training both in this country and internationally. We have a very strong network which includes not only all the different partners who deal with young people and training, but also universities, colleges, schools and publishers.

  • What is the best connection you have made or received?

The best connection we have made is with Bob Pinner because he is full of energy and can make any event work. He brings together all those in Coventry and really makes things happen.

  • What are your top tips for hosting a great networking event?

The key to an excellent networking event is to organise it in the same way that you organise a party …. get everyone involved in the organisation, keep it light and fun and make sure that there are people there who others will want to meet. During the actual event, make everyone feel at home, welcome and happy. Relax and don’t worry if things go wrong … no-one feels welcome and at home if the host is all worked up or if it’s too formal and starchy … keep it relaxed and happy.

  • What are your best networking links / resources?

Best networking resources and networks depend on the job to be done. It always involves getting on the phone to people and building energy and momentum in this way. By building a good network of people and maintaining good relationships, everything is possible.
