Richard is currently working on the launch of Unheard, which is an online music network for unsigned bands and musicians. He describes himself as “an orb of energy”, and uses his current project and his network connections to push himself to achieve more than those I idealise in business.

What tools or resources do you use to keep in touch with people?

My top tips are:

Be Prepared – have business cards prepared as they save a lot of time and explaining. Relax – Don’t be scared, humbled maybe but not fearful. Embrace the experience. Enjoy It – Meeting people is an essential part of business and as such you should learn to enjoy it. My best links and resources are the growing number of business cards stored around my desk and the internet.

Q&A
  • Why is getting connected important to make things happen?

Our network is unique thanks to its team of proactive members that represent the pushing spirit of young entrepreneurs in the area. With ‘bring-a-person’ formula, we grow and have guest speakers that will provide price-less advice and assistance.

  • What made you set up your network?

The network was started out of demand. With such a large amount of business thinking young minds, it was a simple case of necessity. The common problem that was arousing in the area’s start-up businesses was a lack of assistance and connections with those already successful in their fields.

The obvious solution to all this was to get all these great minds together with the resulting cataclysm of productivity never ending.

  • What is the best connection you have made or received?

With so many great connections made, its hard to pinpoint one as the pinnacle, but if had to, I would probably say the connects I made with the local radio station; “The Beach”.
