  • What makes your network different or special?

    The Secretary Network (SECNET)is for secretaries in the Bristol region, Founded by Rob McCabe, it’s the only real networking oportunity for them as a secretary or PA in the region - from someone that appreciates the role that a good secretary plays. You must see the website to full appreciate all that goes on at the fantastic extravaganza events.

  • Why did you set it up?

    SECNET was set up after extensive research into the marketplace. Bosses network frequently with networking organisations, breakfast meets and socials. The secretary is often tied to the office and never gets to meet a host of other like-minded secretaries or PA’s. Now they have a chance!

  • What are your top tips for hosting a great networking event?

    Choose a quality venue that offers a quality of service - you don’t want your networking organisation let down by others. Over invite your guests - if you invite 100 then you may get 40 or 60! People say yes with the best will in the world… but mean “possibly” or “perhaps”. Build positive relationships, keep to your word and your promises - most of all be genuine. People buy people!

  • What are your best networking links / resources?

    The internet has opened up a wealth of opportunities in searching and locating contacts, our strength has been picking up the telephone and talking to people about what we do, our objectives and intentions. Best links are people! Dont be afraid to ask for help and information from others.

  • What is the best connection you have made or received?

    Connections come from asking, searching and delving. There is not a best connection as far as we are concerned - you are the best connection and you must use it well. Everyone is a potential and best connection, people know people that know people. If you are confident, genuine, give lots of kisses you get lots of hugs in return.
