Q&A
  • What are your tips for being an effective networker?

The person sitting next to you could offer you your big break - don’t think that you should wait fro formal networking events to make contacts

Make sure you exchange contact details

Keep your contacts fresh - send them xmas cards/newsletters

  • What is your advice to a young entrepreneur?

Be bold, make use of all the support and contacts you can, you can’t do it alone.

  • What is the best connection you have made or received?

A visiting lecturer at Warwick turned out to be on the board at Light House when I applied for a post there, he happened to be on the interview panel. I’m not saying he gave me a job just because he knew me, but I’m sure it helped. The rest is history.
