I am Sofie Sandell, the Past President of JCI London - also known as the Junior Chamber of Commerce for London. 2009 my focus is PR and Marketing I want to spread the word about JCI.

JCI London is part of an independent, world-wide personal development organisation for people in their 20s and 30s and is a worldwide federation of young leaders and entrepreneurs. We are 200,000 active JCI members and millions of JCI alumni participating in projects, meetings, learning programs and events. JCI thrives in more than 6,000 communities located in more than 100 countries throughout the world. In this network we work together to become successful in all aspects of lives. Some of the activities we are doing is Personal Development - Business skills training - Public Speaking - Networking - Provide International contacts.

It is great fun to be involved in an organisation like JCI and to be the president is a big honour. I get lots of energy and knowledge from being involved and you get to know the other members very well.

  • What are your top tips for being an effective networker?

    To be an effective networker you have to actively meet and connect people yourself, think about who wants to know who and connect them. Then they will do the same for you!

  • What is your advice to a young entrepreneur?

    When you are starting up a business it is important to have positive people around you who supports you. A good network to have be involved in can be JCI London.

  • What is the best connection you have made or received?

    My best connections is hard to say, there are many. Probably a sailing connection which opened up several sailing opportunities for me! I would say that you get more fun opportunities if you get to know more people.
