    Adam O’Boyle is a co-founder and the chairman of the Oxford Hub, the focal point for charitable and socially entrepreneurial activity at Oxford University. Through events, a website and an office support, the Oxford Hub connects students with causes and makes it easy for them to get involved and tackle the social and environmental challenges of today. He has taken a year out of his studies and is currently working on founding Student Hubs, which would replicate the Oxford Hub model at universities throughout the UK.

    Alasdair is currently sabbatical president of Oxford Entrepreneurs, the society for Oxford University student entrepreneurs and one of the largest networks for student entrepreneurs in the UK. In the past I’ve organised The Queen’s College Ball, been involved in a web start-up and designed rockets. I am currently working with Rajeeb Dey to launch Enternship.com nationwide and get young people experience of working on start-ups.

With over 20 years worth of business, marketing and PR experience, she now looks after a number of networks in Kent. Channel Chamber is involved with the Young Chamber programme in three local schools, helping to support the business people of the future.

    Internet entrepreneur and blogger. Having been a sporting fanatic throughout his life, becoming a national champion and member of the English table tennis squad as a junior, David caught the entrepreneurial bug aged 20. After founding GroupSpaces Ltd (formerly ClickUni Ltd), winning places on courses and internships with McKinsey & Company, Lehman Brothers and JPMorgan, and leading various university sports clubs, David was awarded 2nd place in the UK Graduate of the Year competition in 2007. David is currently CEO at GroupSpaces Ltd, a funded Internet start-up addressing the pains of group management and communication online. In his spare time he enjoys writing “Freed from The Matrix” (www.davidlanger.co.uk) – a blog giving an insight into the lives of young entrepreneurs and also the entrepreneurship section for national student newspaper, The Gateway.

    Jack Forester

    Jack Forester was recently named ‘Best Young Entrepreneur’ at The Brighton & Hove Business Awards (BAHBAs) 2007. His company, Ground Zero, produces action sports and music events for big brands such as Nike 6.0, Ubisoft and Vans. Ground Zero’s flagship event ‘The Extreme Dirty Weekend’, is an annual, independent youth festival on Brighton Seafront, which recently appeared on Channel 4 and was a finalist in the Cultural Event of the Year category at the BAHBAs. Jack also runs ‘YES network’, a series of events aiming to connect and inspire the next generation of entrepreneurs.

James is currently in his final year of an Economics and Politics degree.

I studied a degree in Marketing in London and have been part of the Striding Out team since summer 2006. Striding Out is a support network for young and social entrepreneurs. We provide a range of services such as networking events, coaching, workshops and training to help young people to start, launch or grow their businesses. My main aim and role is to bring together a community of like-minded individuals who help, share and support each other and to provide young people with affordable services that enhance their personal and professional skills.

    Mark Picken, is Managing Director of marketing and design agency mpad. His aim as a businessman is to help clients to communicate effectively with their customers through a mix of marketing, public relations, advertising and design. As a result of this, and the frustration with the lack of opportunities for young business owners to connect in Cornwall, Mark established The Hub, which now has over 700 members.
