We believe in offering a supportive, inclusive and informal environment for women to develop their skills and businesses where all women are welcome regardless of employment status, ethnicity, disability or any other special requirements.
Our services, normally offered across Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire and the wider East of England region include:
‘Starting a Business’ support, Business Growth and Sustainability Workshops, Leadership Training, Speaker Meet and Mix series offering to opportunity to meet other women in business and learn from our varied speakers, A signposting service to other providers should you need specialist support, A dedicated researcher who conducts research into women’s business enterprise
The CWE is part of the University of Bedfordshire Business School so we are also able to offer good links within the University and its faculties.
We are an award winning centre holding the Prowess Flagship quality standard award for excellence in women’s enterprise provision.
We aim to make our services accessible to all regardless of any special requirements or ethnic background. The majority of our training is carried out within school friendly hours and a crèche may be available at some training events, subject to funding. If you need assistance with childcare/carer needs then contact us as we may be able to signpost you to an organisation offering appropriate assistance. Additionally, do contact us if you have any special requirements or need any information in a different format.
Key members of staff are involved in national campaigns to support women in enterprise. Linda Kitchener, Manager of the CWE, is a Spark Women’s Ambassador and Julie Tysoe, CWE Marketing and Account Executive is both a Spark Women’s Ambassador and a Make your Mark Connector.
