Who are we?

OVERVEW ARC Retail provides support services to the retail industry delivered by retail practitioners with a deep working knowledge of the sector. Our real-world retail expertise helps us to deliver rapid and visible results. Our methodology is simple, so simple we named our company after it. ARC stands for Analysis, Recommendation, Change – the 3 elements we deliver to support our clients across a wide range of business problems and opportunities. We are specialists in Merchandise Planning, Demand Forecasting, Supply Chain & Inventory Management and Business Intelligence. We offer business analysts; consultants and subject matter experts; Project, Programme and Change managers; Interim operational resources; Systems specialists and Tailored training.

OUR PHILOSOPHY We base our business philosophy on the same principles as most other successful businesses. Minimise overheads, Maximise revenues Ensure in everything we do we put the customer first. As it happens, the same principles apply to the worlds leading retailers. We apply these principles to pass on savings to our customers. This enables us to offer world class quality and service at a fraction of the price typically charged by the larger consultancies and software houses. We believe that a good reputation and ethical practice earns rewards today and insures for the future. Stewardship is core to our customer engagements – meaning we’re not just interested in a short term win if a longer term view, even with a deferred project, would be better for the customer. Referenceable, happy customers are more valuable than marketing. We aim for all our customers to be referenceable, and so far, so good.

OUR BUSINESS MODEL We aim to think like our customers, the world’s leading retailers, keeping our costs down and passing on the savings to our customers.

How do we do this?

Minimal office overheads: We use shared hot-desks in serviced offices or work on clients’ sites. We do not need to cover costs of redundant office facilities in our margins.

Minimal salary costs: We operate an associate model. Skilled resources are contracted for the required number of days. The benefits being: We select resources on a project by project basis to achieve best skills and cultural fit for the client The client does not cover costs of resources that are not deployed on a project in our margins. We never put unsuitable resources on a project for utilisation targets

Pragmatism: Implementing change quickly, gaining competitive advantage sooner, is preferable to aiming for perfection. Equally, trying to do too much all at once often fails.

We believe projects are successful when managed as “bite sized chunks” that fit in with operational pressures and can be delivered quickly and effectively. These projects become self-sustaining with the return on investment from the first funding those that follow.
